What makes our service different

Our principal is a professional engineer and has duties and obligations to you, our Customer, that are enforced by a provincial association, the Professional Engineers of Ontario, which has the power to discipline him, or even take away his license and professional designation. These duties and obligations cover these main areas:

1. fairness and loyalty to the practitioner's associates, employers, clients, subordinates and employees;
2. fidelity to public needs;
3. devotion to high ideals of personal honour and professional integrity;
4. knowledge of developments in the area of professional engineering relevant to any services that are undertaken; and
5. competence in the performance of any professional engineering services that are undertaken.

Because a home inspection is not considered to be the practice of engineering and we do not practice engineering during a home inspection, home inspections are not regulated by the Association. However the Association has held that this does not excuse engineers who provide this service from compliance with fundamentally important duties and obligations, which are set out in 1, 2 and 3 above, and the Association expects and demands knowledge and competency in the services that are provided.
