LimitationsWe think the legal stuff should be plain and simple. The reality is that most problems are caused by unrealistic expectations that couldn't possibly be met. The "fine print" sets out expectations that we think are reasonable and against which we're prepared to be measured. All home inspectors have limitations very similar to the following, which are usual in the home inspection industry. We would rather tell you about them before we meet you at the home inspection, so that you are not surprised. We believe in being open and up-front, and therefore show you our contract before you hire us. Our report is provided for the information of you, our Customer, alone and no other parties are permitted to place any reliance on it or on our observations and recommendations. They do so at their own risk. By hiring us to carry out an inspection for you, you agree that we have no liability for repair or replacement of any equipment or building components, or for any other damages howsoever caused or in any way related to, resulting from, or associated with our inspection. We can only comment on what we can see; there are many hidden defects that will not be found by an inspection, and there is the possibility that changes might have been made between the time of the inspection and your possession date. An inspection is not a warranty of condition and should not be taken as such. Many things found to be working at the time of the inspection might fail on their next use. Also, any items that were observed to be in a failed state might have been repaired by the homeowner before you take possession. To these major limitations which are associated with any inspection, we add one other: that you must pay for our inspection only if you are satisfied with it. Caveat Our website |
